“Light from on high”
– Luk 1:78 (AMP)
Seasons
Life consists of “seasonal periods”. Seasons are not always of predictable length and do not always follow the predictable features of that specific season – haven’t you found the rains of last week somewhat unusual for this time of year?
I have been considering my personal lifetime and pondered over the changing seasons I have experienced: some gradual, but others rather drastic. A Summer can bring soothing, penetrating rainfalls, or suddenly burst out in violent thunderstorms! Winters can be mild, or very cold, making way for the unusual: a sudden and unexpected snowfall…
Life has probably changed into a most unexpected season for most of us. In all my life I have never experienced a “pandemic”, let alone a national (and partial international) lock-down! One thing is certain, we may have some skill-set to deal with life’s seasonal changes, but we are mostly unprepared for dramatic interventions.
I’m reminded of the parable of the rich man planning his rosy future: “So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods’.” (Luk 12:18). But his season suddenly ended abruptly: “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’” (Luk 12:20).
The lesson to take away is not to learn to better cope with changing circumstances, no, but to entrust God with every moment of our lives! God spoke to us through the pen of James: “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’” (Jas 4:13-15).
Lastly, let us never forget that it is through the seasons that God shapes our lives. It is all about learning to trust God, and not relying on our own skills and abilities, but knowing that God is with us (“…call His Name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Mat 1:23), ready to help us in our time of need (“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace… and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb 4:16). He has already been in this very moment before we were even born! God was in our past (though we may not always have been consciously aware of that), and He is also already in our future!

I’d like to point you to some of the latest postings on my Blog (revelationcues.blog). On 6 September 2003 the Lord gave me a Word (to be more precise, a Vision) about “the Book of my Life” and on 19 August that year, a Word about the status of the “Teenage Bride of Christ” at the time. You can follow this direct link to access both: https://revelationcues.blog/prophecy-breadcrumbs/18/ I do believe you will find the prophetic words on the Blog valuable for quiet meditation. I have already posted Prophecies of more than 10 years, accessible from the Prophecy-menu: https://revelationcues.blog/prophecy-breadcrumbs/
Do make more time to pray and read God’s Word during these Lock-down weeks, especially if you have more free time on your hands. As believers we will all need much wisdom to know how to walk and what decisions to take after this “season”. If ever we needed discernment, not to be swallowed up by deception, it is now! This is vitally important. Remember the Words of Jesus: “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand.” (Mat 24:24-25)
NB: I will be uploading 2 items this week:
One for Good Friday & then also the normal Sunday teaching.
